I would like to share with you a prayer, which I put together in the spirit of Christmas. May this prayer be our guide as the year nears its end, and the new bright­er one approaches. “ Lord, grant me beautiful brows that show nothing Of boredom, discontent and frowning So I may show others that there are always blessings to count... A beautiful nose that senses the needs of a person in sorrow Who suffers quietly deep in a burrow.. Lord, give me a beautiful set of lips That knows sense of humor so I will find happiness in life and share it with others.

May I use my beautiful mouth to avoid criticisms of others, quarrels and discord. To constantly praise you for the blessings as well as difficulties In order that I may acquire that perfect resignation to your holy will. Grant me Lord a set of beauti­ful ears that I can lend to others when they weep Ears that refuse to hear com­ments that destroy the confidence and vex the spirit Beautiful arms to embrace those who need comforting. And beautiful shoulders I can offer to cry on... Bless me with beautiful eyes to see more than what is physical To look through each chapter in my life and reflect how little I devoted To the preoccupation I call myself”.

To delight in seeing everyone equally beautiful as they are in the eyes of God And to treat others with charity and kindness no matter how they hurt me.

Lord, Grant me a beautiful heart that sees always what is fine and pure and is not frightened at the bitterness of others but cre­ates positivism wherever it goes.
Grant me the serenity to gra­ciously accept with patience that other people may not like me
And cast me aside as worthless when their egotistic needs I fail to meet
But most of all, please protect me from myself To avoid the tendency to love things too much and to glorify myself at the expense of others. Help me control my passions, emotions and imaginations
And allow my beautiful thoughts, words and actions be­come instruments of peace and love.
