GOD SHUTS UP A FOOL (2)

  • PDF

“God is exalted in his power. Who is a teacher like him? Who has prescribed his ways for him, or said to him, ‘You have done wrong’? Remember to extol his work, which people have praised in song. All humanity has seen it; mortals gaze on it from afar. How great is God—beyond our understanding! The number of his years is past finding out. Job 36: 22-26

Hi everyone. Sorry to cut up the conversation but space limits the length of columns. By how, we hope that you have mulled over arguments and have come up with a partial conviction. God indeed is great and will show us mortals his power and wisdom.

In Job 38-41, God asked Job questions that scientists are trying to answer up to now. For starters, let’s read from Job 38: 1- 11.” 1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: 2 “Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? 3 Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me. 4 “ Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. 5 Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? 6 To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, 7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? 8 “Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb; 9 When I made the clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band; 10 When I fixed My limit for it, and set bars and doors; 11 When I said, ‘This far you may come, but no farther, and here your proud waves must stop!’”

Where were we, indeed?
So now we continue with the story and I hope that our faith in God is strengthened, and our belief confirmed.
“‘Now tell me, professor. Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?’ ‘If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, young man, yes, of course I do.’ ‘Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?’
The professor begins to shake his head, still smiling, as he realizes where the argument is going. A very good semester, indeed.
‘Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you now not a scientist, but a preacher?’

The class is in uproar. The student remains silent until the commotion has subsided. ‘To continue the point you were making earlier to the other student, let me give you an example of what I mean.’ The student looks around the room. ‘Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the professor’s brain?’ The class breaks out into laughter.

‘Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor’s brain, felt the professor’s brain, touched or smelled the professor’s brain? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, with all due respect, sir.’ ‘So if science says you have no brain, how can we trust your lectures, sir?’
Now the room is silent. The professor just stares at the student - his face unreadable. Finally, after what seems an eternity, the old man answers. ‘I guess you’ll have to take them on faith..’
‘Now, you accept that there is faith, and, in fact, faith exists with life,’ the student continues. ‘Now, sir, is there such a thing as evil?’ Now uncertain, the professor responds, ‘Of course, there is. We see it everyday. It is in the daily example of man’s inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil.’ “To this the student replied, ‘Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God’s love present in his heart. It’s like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light.’

The professor sat down.”
Still there are schools today, whole universities that have evolution as the foundation of their teaching. They are still looking for the “missing link” between humans and the apes. They say they have but when those specimens are put under the microscope, they find that those bones are from animals
not humans. Like the student said, they do not have the love of God in their hearts therefore they are teaching the denial of a Creator God, choosing to believe that men came from monkeys established by many convoluted theories, rather than believing in the simple God made man in His own image. In God’s sight they are fools and therefore gave corrupted minds, although many of them are regarded as great by others. But all is not lost because God loves everyone even the most rabid atheist, and He will accept them if they turn to Him and accept Him as their Savior. Jesus confirms this when He said to Nicodemus, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 (The Small Group Study Bible).
Do you, friends, after reading and meditating on this article, accept that God is the Creator of all things, animate and inanimate; the Savior of this fallen humanity, that he loves you and me to the extent of giving his only Son Jesus Christ to die so that we will not perish?
