His Hour of Judgment Has Come

  • PDF

Revelation 14: 6 6 Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. 7 He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.” The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. Psalm 19: 9

The impeachment of Chief Justice Corona goes on with both prosecutors and defense working hard to do their job to try to convict or acquit the accused. Whether the senator-judges will judge only by the merits of the case or judge by trial of publicity we don’t know, but what we know is there is going to be a verdict of either guilty or not guilty. From what we read from the newspapers or see and hear from the radio or TV is that the Chief Justice is already judged guilty and pilloried by the press that are Anti-CJ and aided no less than the man himself who occupies the palace, who admitted that he was the brains of the impeachment. Jesus told a story of a judge that has no regard for anybody. A woman came to him several times asking for justice against her enemy but he wouldn’t listen. However, the woman was persistent and so the judge finally relented because he said she might weary him by her constant pleading. Jesus said that the judge was unjust and only gave a favorable judgment because the woman might do him to death by constant badgering. God the Father does not act that way. God judges fairly and never makes a mistake. Psalms 19: 9 says, The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether”. Many have been hanged in the gallows, zapped in the electric chair, jailed for a crime that he or she did not commit, or walked free even if he committed the crime, because of faulty judgment or a good lawyer and a large amount of money.

The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 12: 13, 14 that all will be judged someday. “3 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.” We can do any thing we want to do, good or bad but let us remember that at the end there is going to be judgment , and all the things we did are on record so we couldn’t make an alibi. Why does God have records? It is because Satan has records of every man, woman, and child that put their trust in God. He will try to convince the repentant sinner that God will never forgive his sins, showing him his records , but the repentant saint will cling to the promise of God found in 1 John 1:9. It says,” If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

How will all people stand before the judgment bar of God? Does not sin separate us from him? The Apostle John said, 11 “Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. “ Revelation 20:11,12 This scene will happen when Christ and the saints will come back to earth after a thousand year vacation in Heaven. ( John 14: 1-3; 1 Corinthians 15: 52, Revelation20: 4-6)

When Jesus and the saints will come down from heaven to earth safely inside the New Jerusalem, God will resurrect all the wicked dead. Satan will lead the assault on the Holy City but before this, Jesus will show a panoramic view of all the sins of the wicked people beginning with the devil and showing to the people that it was him who introduced all the evil in the world. They are forced to acknowledge the justice of God. Even then, His justice is still tempered with grace because the punishment will not be unending but rather come to and end. Malachi says, 1 [a]“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the LORD Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them.

2 But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. 3 Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the LORD Almighty.” Malachi 4: 1-3. God is a God of love. He will not let anybody burn forever and ever. The wicked will burn until they become ashes. Even Satan will eventually be consumed, and when all the vestige of sin has been burned, the earth is purified by fire, God will create a new heaven and a new earth. Revelation 21: 1-8 say this, 1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” 5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
Friends, there is still time for us to make right with God. Let us call on Him and He will hear us.
