Manoy’s bets

  • MONTHS before the election, there was one actor – a living legend in the entertainment industry – who was unafraid to express his support for his presidential and vice presidential bet.

Octogenarian actor-director Eddie Garcia, a devoted pal of the late Fernando Poe, Jr., has never hidden his support for FPJ’s daughter, Sen. Grace Poe, and her running-mate, Sen. Chiz Escudero. Manoy – as he is known – and the senator both hail from Sorsogon.

“IIkot ako,” said the much-admired showbiz icon, at the presscon for GMA 7’s “Little Nanay” last year, on what he plans to do for his candidates.

He campaigns, joins rallies, shoot ads – and he does all these for free!

Every election, he shoots a commercial endorsing Chiz. This year, an online ad was released last April 16 and will soon air on TV.
