Something magical happens when you walk Downtown Vancouver since the 2010 Winter Olympics kicked off a week ago. Unusual crowd gathered in places where people can get a glimpse of the Olympic history. Olympics memorabilia and photos are very being sold in everywhere. There’s no doubt that Vancouverites are always in their holiday mood these days.
Due to an unavoidable event happening, we have to sneak quietly to Calgary during the opening day of the Olympics. It was quite a relaxing trip and a wise decision to fly from Abbotsford Airport because it was not as crowded as YVR. It was our first time to enjoy Calgary’s scenery during the peak of winter season.
With a bonus of sunny weather, glittering snow stuck on the tree branches and view of new architectural structure of residential houses at New Brighton, South East side of Calgary, we feel completely pleased of our plan to visit the place once again.
At the Calgary airport, car rental offices are very accessible to the passengers who intend to avail of the service. The situation did allow us to satisfy our hunger pangs with the best breakfast treat in a newly developed commercial area at South East side where Chef Cora first breakfast and lunch restaurant is built. Cora’s Restaurant business started in 1987 in Montreal, Quebec now has 50 outlets all over Canada. She specializes in breakfast platter with generous servings of assorted fresh fruits. Her menu is inspired by family traditions with nutritional consideration on what are good food choices for breakfast. With the changing lifestyle of people, more and more meals are eaten away from home. Meals serve in restaurants or food services take over. ‘Eating away from home’ trend endangers quality and quantity of food taken by a person. Nutritional value of menu should be assessed.
Cora’s breakfast and lunch menu choices are nutritious and inventive. It is presentable and definitely will perk up the diner with the protein, carbohydrates loaded with vitamins and minerals supplied by the fresh fruits of the platter.
The restaurant ambience is colorful or playful with paintings of child-like colorful fruits and veggies. No wonder we observed families with children enjoying their nutritious breakfast treat at Cora’s. For a change, we have a healthy breakfast choice than the usual fast food of burgers and fries.
So, if you get a chance to visit Calgary or Montreal, check out Chez Cora’s Restaurant. Check out: www.chezcora. com . By the way, franchising is open in British Columbia.
