From Andy’s Room, to the Pizza Planet in Act One and a Dream World to the Trash Incinertaor in Act Two, the sets in Disney On Ice presents Disney • Pixar’s Toy Story 3 were intergral to the audience feeling like theywere a part of the show. Scenic Designer Joe Stewart, an award winning designer who has won both Daytime and Primetime Emmys throughout his illustrious career, was responsible for creating a space where the audience becomes a part of the toy world.
“For the audiences I think the scale of the set will be amusing, fun and exciting because you don’t get a chance to see things like how big a marble or a football is from a toy’s perspective,” says Stewart. “And I think children will be amazed by the giantness of the toys, and that they do have a three-dimensional quality to them.”
