Patricia’s poem - One Summer Day

  • PDF

Oh, let me enjoy this glorious, warm Sun shiny day.
All thoughts of cold and cashmere, gone so abruptly.
Delights of the flesh, bare essentials I embrace willingly. Capris, short sleeves, sandals, sighs of the skin, all lovingly. Let me hang my head in a hammock of stupor.

Billowy breeze lull me to sleep, greedily I savor.
Limbs feeling free, tension gone, I feel braver.
A little madder perhaps, but who cares, grant me no favor.

Seize the day, hold it near and dear to your heart.
Photographs don’t lie, they tell tales like works of art.
Akin to people who come and go, your life cannot be all bright.
Reminisce later, today I smile, Summer is about to start.
