The most famous painting of all time is the Mona Lisa. Painted by Leonardo da Vinci in 1503, as commissioned by a wealthy Silk Merchant Francesco de Gioncondo, as a potrait of his wife Lisa Gherardini. What makes this painting famous is the enigmatic expression of Monalisa. Her smile seems to invite you to a share a secret, to draw the one viewing the painting to an introspect perspective. It is like she knows the answer to how one can live life to the fullest. All of us, I believe would like to know how we can live our lives to the best that we can be.
As one gets older, that biological clock that heralds one is getting up there in the number games can be a rude awakening to some and quite a shock to others. Physical manifestation of limited ability becomes obvious as well as metabolic changes in the body become bothersome. We often hear folks saying “when I was younger” or “ when I was your age”. Some will move heaven and earth to maintain that youthful glow via exercise or the more drastic cosmetic surgeries. Others who are more centered will shrug their shoulders and will choose to let everything as it is, continue the way they always lived. C’est la vie or that’s life, a more easy going take on serious matters. Is that a bad thing? Not at all.
I believe as we traverse thru our lives, one have to accept that there will be changes, it is inevitable. I also believe that having a positive attitude can make a huge difference in how we handle tragedies and challenges we will encounter along the way. There’s a saying that “you win more friends when you laugh than when you cry.”
Our lives are just temporary. No magic potion has been invented yet to reverse aging. We can prolong our lives via healthy lifestyle but that unavoidable expiry will
always be there. We can hide from that reality or we can accept and make the most of what we got. So get out there: feel, enjoy, love and live.
