WESLEY So drew his final game against Indian grandmaster Pentala Harikrishna to finish third in the Shamkir Chess-Gashimov Memorial 2017.

So split his point with Harikrishna in 45 moves of a King’s Indian Attack in the final round.

Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, who ranked no. 10 in the FIDE ratings, took the crown with 5.5 points after he drew with Veselin Topalov in 41 moves of a Queen’s Gambit Declined.

According to the official website, Vladimir Kramnik beat Pavel Eljanov in 63 moves of a Catalan Opening.

Kramnik finished in a three-way tie with So and Topalov for second to fourth.

Topalov is at fourth.

So stayed at no. 2 in the world rankings and he has an ELO rating 2812, which is down by 2.8.

Kramnik inched closer to So with 2809.9, followed by Fabiano Caruana with 2807.3.
